Lockdowns seem to be the norm all around the country.
Here are my top 5 tips to help you.
1. Exercise, every day, at least for 30 mins, whether you go for a walk or do an at- home workout (via You Tube). This is a great natural anti depressant!
2. Keep up a daily routine. Whether you are working from home, or waiting to work again, getting into a routine is so important. Try to stick to the same wake up times, have activities planned during work hours, schedule your meal breaks, make time for Relaxation, etc.
3. If you can, get out of the house- we still have 5 reasons we can leave the home (this is the case for Melbourne) and leaving our home can help us give us a sense of control, feeling less confined and trapped by our situation.
4. Connect, connect, connect with others- call your family, or facetime a friend, or zoom a work colleague or go for a walk with a neighbour- but please stay connected, this is essential to good mental health.
5. And most significantly ASK FOR HELP if you need it- there is NOTHING wrong with letting others know if you need support and help. Most people are happy to help.
